Dr. Lefteris Doitsidis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete.
He received his diploma degree from the Production Engineering and Management Department of the Technical University of Crete, Chania, Greece, in 2000. In 2002 he was awarded his M.Sc. degree in Production Systems and in 2008 he received his Ph.D. from the same department.
From 2002 to June 2008 he was a researcher at the Intelligent Systems and Robotics Laboratory of the same department. From August 2003 to June 2004 he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of South Florida, FL, U.S.A, where he was a member of the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue.
From 2004 until October 2010, he has been an adjunct faculty member at the Department of Electronics, Technological Educational Institute of Crete and starting from October 2010 he has a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor at the same department.
Since January 2010, he is also an adjunct senior researcher at the Informatics & Telematics Institute of Greece, CERTH.
His research interests lie in the areas of multirobot teams, design of novel robotic systems, autonomous operation and navigation of unmanned vehicles. He is also active in the areas of fuzzy logic and evolutionary computation.
